Which part of the plant is primarily involved in photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants convert light energy into chemical energy, primarily taking place in the leaves. Leaves contain chlorophyll, the green pigment that captures sunlight, and chloroplasts, which are the organelles where photosynthesis occurs. The structure of leaves, with their large surface area and thinness, allows for maximum light absorption while facilitating gas exchange through small openings called stomata.
